A fun little side project. I often enjoy changing up the way I create things. With this, I began with ChatGPT. I told it I wanted a creepy song 80 seconds long. I let it know I was using Ableton Live 12 Suite and it spit out a bunch of recommended built in plugins, instrument ideas, effects, the suggested key, and a few key note patterns to fit the vibe. I had also told it I wanted the 80 seconds to be split into 10 sections that are 8 seconds each. It gave me some nice prompts to work with, which I then put into Google Veo 3.1 for the video portion. I added my demon character as a reference for that, and aside from that, everything was generated solely based on how Google Veo 3.1 interpreted the ChatGPT prompts I gave it. The video then inspired what I came up musically. It began as a creepy/dark soundscape and I started creating some sound effects and vocals. I realized fairly quickly that the mannerisms of the demon seemed somewhat comical, so I changed directions a little and made it more of a horror/comedy sort of thing. I couldn't resist the Wilhelm Scream when he falls over the chair. This might be a good future song and I could simply cut out the vocals and sound effects, except some of them could for sure be used within the song. They'd just need arranged to fit the song instead of the video. It's crazy what can begin as something random and not thought out at all, and suddenly it starts developing into something real that can be shaped/molded like this. AI has really opened up an entire new world for me. I've made music off/on since 2010, and I think the main thing that slowed me down was not being able to do everything on my own to the point I was satisfied. AI has made it much easier for me to express my creative side and get my ideas to a better finished stage.
